In 2018, I worked on Project second chance which is an Initiative by TYCIA organisation based out of New Delhi, The Project as the name suggests aims to give a second chance in life.
TYCIA aims to educate the undertrials in Tihar Jail, New Delhi. As per research, the majority of crimes that take place in India are because of unemployment, illiteracy and lack of basic necessities. As a first step TYCIA aims to educate them and eradicate these problems, hence helping in dropping off a major factor in street crimes.
Educating undertrials is very different from teaching someone at school, these people are almost or are adults. The learning process and curriculum had to be different. TYCIA developed the curriculum with the real life stories of Undertrials and used their own lingo and slang to educate them.
